• The Beginning; Tardeo Centre, Mumbai

    The first centre of Hamaara Sapna opened at Tardeo. The centre opened to cater to marginalized women with the aim to have a safe place for them away from home. Women from different walks of life became a part of the Hamaara Sapna family. All the beneficiaries were overjoyed with the centre and showed great enthusiasm to learn in this centre. The joy on the faces of the women was priceless.

    Being a part of this huge collective event has broken barriers within. Representing Hamaara Sapna has been one of the best ways to realize their contribution in the larger gamut of this entire exercise. The power of collectivization, as seen in this event, has been an eye opener to the world outside. The essence and importance of coming together and doing things because ‘we care’ has taken root.

  • Opening of Dharavi Centre, Mumbai

    Another centre of Hamaara Sapna opened at Dharavi to cater to the marginalized population in that area. Beneficiaries started availing of all the services that Hamaara Sapna provides. It has been a big shift in the life of many women as they have something new to look forward to independently away from their daily routine. The centre has been inspiring and motivating them to take charge of their own lives. The centre presents varied opportunities to women to grow and blossom.

  • Participation in Mumbai Marathon 2014

    Many beneficiaries were inspired to participate in the Marathon and represent Hamaara Sapna. The event was one that made them proud to be associated with Hamaara Sapna. Beneficiaries had fun, played games and even danced to the pulsing music there. They were excited and felt overwhelmed being involved in something like this.

  • Exhibition at Naval Officers Residential Area (NOFRA), Mumbai

    An exclusive exhibition was organised in Naval Officers Residential Area (NOFRA) at Colaba. All the clothes made painstakingly by the women of Tardeo Centre were put on sale. Women had an amazing opportunity to interact with clients and actually see what it felt like to be doing business. This was the first time that they actually spoke to clients and related to them. They explained their wares and carried out their own sales. This was their first taste of being out there in the real world amongst other people.

    A beneficiary was appointed as a nanny after learning English in Hamaara Sapna.She was proud earning her own livelihood on her own merit.

    A beneficiary started making rakhis before Raksha Bandhan which were sold to other beneficiaries in Hamaara Sapna and to others out of the centre on a made to order basis.

    The beneficiaries came together and made beautiful artificial jewellery. Necklaces, bangles and earrings were made of different patterns and styles. They participated in an exhibition and displayed their products there.

  • Business Order from Ms. Debi Steven for Karate Suits

    Nothing could have pleased them better than to make karate suits by themselves that would be used by people outside of India. The morale boost was tremendous. It was the first time that all the women came together to collectively and unanimously work for an order that would give them recognition and appreciation outside their country. For those that did not even know how to thread a needle before, to go on to make karate suits on order was a huge success.

    Another year of participation in the marathon took place. The beneficiaries ran and expressed the joy and happiness they felt running for Hamaara Sapna. Many who could not run, jogged and many even walked the Dream Run. It was a matter of pride to be part of this huge venture.

    An exhibition of clothes made by the beneficiaries of the Dharavi Centre was arranged at SBI ATM. Customers came and inquired and looked at various clothes. Beneficiaries were proud selling their clothes and had a great time interacting with different customers. The exhibition was a success and all the women were very excited with the response.

Beneficiaries made over hundred bags. These bags have been appreciated by all and have made the beneficiaries feel proud of their contribution to this esteemed annual event.

  • Started teaching yoga outside Hamaara Sapna

    One beneficiary having learnt yoga in Hamaara Sapna has started teaching yoga to others outside the centre. She has taught a group of local female corporators before the elections. She also goes home to teach housewives and has her own clientele.

    Many beneficiaries took part in the Dream Run- Marathon 2017. Like always, it was an experience to remember. Beneficiaries, carrying placards of HamaaraSapna proudly became part of this large scale event. Their contribution goes down in being a part of the larger cause. The staff of Bajaj Group and Hamaara Sapna came together and enjoyed this event full of fun, food and dance.

    The centre that opened in Pune received a staggering response and was eagerly awaited. The beneficiaries find it a great place to be ‘themselves’ leaving all their stress and worry behind. They wish to avail of all opportunities and learn much more. They find this a means to reach out to others like them and be a part of a larger family of their own outside their home. Now they feel a sense of belonging.

  • Recipe book by Hamaara Sapna Ladies gets printed

    The only recipes that women followed before were the ones that were shown on Hindi or other regional channels. They never had the courage to look at an English Recipe Book and follow dishes from it. However, the same women have finally come up with an edition of their very own Recipe Book. The recipes they felt they were good at were selected as a form of self-expression. They have been written and recreated by them to come up with Hamaara Sapna’s very own Recipe Book.
